Bass Valley Estate is a unique experience, bringing together the richness of the Gippsland region with a delightful French Provencale feel. We are maker’s of boutique, contemporary Bass Valley wines using traditional wine making methods. Using a dry land viticulture practice, the truth of our wines is in the blending of the winemakers subtle and traditional crafts with the wild forces of nature and earth, sun and rain. This practice yields a premium crop from the rich Bass Valley landscape.

With care, attention and skill we nurture elegant and distinctive wines that express the nature of their origin. Where the sum of the wine is greater than its parts.

Narkoojee, meaning “place of flowers”, was a dairy farm owned and operated by Edna and Athelstan Friend, since the early 1940s. Their son Harry planted the first experimental vines back in 1980 and with his wife Val, moved to the property from Melbourne in 1995. Narkoojee had very humble beginnings with the Cellar Door operating out of a small weatherboard bungalow at the back of Harry and Val Friend’s house. The grapes were taken to the old butter factory in Glengarry, which served as their first winery. Today Narkoojee has a state-of-the-art winery that was officially opened on 10 December 2021 by the Hon. John Brumby MP, then Treasurer of Victoria and Minister for State and Regional Development. Today the winery enjoys a five star status as rated by James Halliday.

Brandy Creek Wines & View Café located in the beautiful farming area of West Gippsland. Our restaurant overlooks our olive grove and vineyard and then onto an amazing view of the Baw Baw ranges.

Toms Cap is a small boutique vineyard situated in Central Gippsland and surrounded by the forests of the Strezlecki Ranges, the ninety-mile beach at Woodside and the natural flora and fauna of Tarra Bulga national park.

The property consists of 100 acres of rolling green paddocks with six acres of vines and forty acres of planted gums and pines. Close by is the Tarra Bulga national park which is one of only four major areas of cool temperature rainforest in Victoria featuring lush moist gullies, giant mountain ash trees and beautiful tree ferns.

Our award winning wine is grown and produced on site. It is best enjoyed in our restaurant, or savour the taste by taking a bottle home.

As well as providing high quality dining in this picturesque location, Traralgon Vineyard hosts wedding receptions, conventions, private functions and wakes, as well as holding both funerals and weddings in an onsite chapel. There is a courtesy bus that operates each Friday night, taking vineyard guests into the Traralgon CBD. Bookings are highly recommended for all occasions and private functions can be held on any day or night of the week.

Located on the road to the iconic Wilsons Promontory National Park Waratah Hills is one of the southern most vineyards on the Australian mainland. The cool, maritime climate wine region is acknowledged as one of the best Pinot Noir producing areas in Australia.

Waratah Hills was planted 17 years ago in the burgundy style of low trellising and close planting.

It is a beautifully sited vineyard with two acres of Chardonnay planted on a north south slope and seven acres of Pinot Noir separated by a band of trees into two distinctly different areas of the property.

Waratah Hills wines are made by a young local wine maker Marcus Satchell. Marcus’s natural and intuitive approach to wine making alongside our passion towards producing the best possible fruit has resulted in a very happy partnership. Our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay have made the wine list of some of Australia’s top restuarants.
