Located on a sand hill wedged between the Murray and Goulburn Rivers upstream from Echuca, Cape Horn Vineyard is named after the riverbend resembling Cape Horn on the tip of South America.

Our philosophy is to produce high quality boutique wines that reflect the unique terroir of the vineyards’ distinct microclimate, rich sandy soils and native eucalypt surrounds, whilst maintaining fruit-driven varietal characteristics.

Today Cape Horn Vineyard offers visitors tastings at the cellar door of a fine selection of wines made from our own fruit. We encourage guests to pack a picnic and take the short trip to the vineyard, just 15km by road East of Echuca or 30min upstream on the river by speed boat. We are happy to cater for parties or functions.

Specialising in cool climate wine, Delatite’s winery and vineyards are on rolling hills at the base of Mt Buller in north-east Victoria. It was established in 1968 by Robert and Vivienne Ritchie and now run by their son David. Our approach to winemaking has been forged from the family’s history of working with the land in Victoria for over 170 years. We’re committed to producing outstanding wines and to biodynamic principles that leave the environment in a better state than when we started.

Mitchelton and its history can be traced over the decades through the pervasive influence of Central Victoria’s Goulburn River’s flow and the unfolding narrative of its distinctive wines. In 1967, Melbourne entrepreneur Ross Shelmerdine commissioned wine industry stalwart Colin Preece to find the best site for premium wine grape growing anywhere in south eastern Australia. Preece chose an old grazing estate, then known as Blackwood Park, in the Nagambie district in Central Victoria.

The river surrounds the vineyard on three sides, shaping the unique environment and climate of Mitchelton. The result is four starkly different soil profiles, creating vineyards within a vineyard across the 154 heactare estate. Proudly ‘home grown’, Mitchelton crafts wines which are expressive of Central Victoria’s best and the wineries rich heritage with Shiraz and Riesling.

The rolling hills of Piemonte and the flat plains of Victoria’s Goulburn Valley are worlds apart. However the classic tradition of wine making has transferred flawlessly from one hemisphere to the other.



When Carlo Monichino migrated from the Asti region in Northern Italy he brought his winemaking skills with him and in 1962, together with his wife Margaret, planted a vineyard in Katunga.



The rich soil and excellent climatic conditions make this region ideal for grape growing. In fact vines were first planted in the area in the 1880’s, making it one of the oldest grape growing regions in Australia.



Monichinos is a true family concern, with Carlo, his son Terry, and daughter Anna all involved. Terry, after studying wine science in Australia and working in the industry overseas, has taken over from Carlo as head winemaker, while Anna manages administration, including functions, and the cellar door.



Visitors are welcome and the cellar door is open 7 days a week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm. Call in for a chat over a large range of award winning wines for tasting.
